About the Opportunity:

As our Employee Relations Advisor, you will have the opportunity to shape a positive employee experience and contribute to the success of Adairs.
Through fostering a positive culture, you will be providing expert guidance employment legislation, workplace conflict resolution, and employee engagement strategies.
You will add significant value through;
* Providing advice and support to managers and employees on a range of ER issues, including disciplinary actions, grievances, workplace conflict, and performance management.
* Lead thorough and unbiased investigations into employee relations matters, ensuring timely resolution and adherence to company policies.
* Act as the primary point of contact for employees regarding workplace issues, ensuring all concerns are handled fairly and in accordance with legislation.
* Keep up-to-date with changes in employment law and best practices, ensuring the company’s policies and procedures are current and legally compliant.
* Review, develop, and implement employee policies to ensure compliance with employment legislation, including the Fair Work Act and Modern Awards.
* Assist in the design and delivery of training programs on ER topics for managers and employees to increase capability.
* Provide coaching and support to managers in handling difficult conversations and improving team dynamics.
* Prepare regular reports on ER activities, including trends in employee grievances, absenteeism, turnover, and performance management.
* Use data to identify patterns and recommend proactive solutions to improve employee engagement and reduce workplace issues.
* Support managers with the performance review process, providing guidance on setting objectives, conducting appraisals, and managing underperformance.

What It Takes To Be Great:
* Substantial experience in an Employee Relations or HR advisory role, preferably within retail
* In-depth knowledge of Australian employment law, Fair Work legislation, and the GRIA Modern Awards.
* Experience in conduction workplace investigations
* Exceptional relationship building and influencing skills
* Demonstrated success in developing people centric policies and procedures
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle sensitive and complex issues with discretion.
* Conflict resolution and mediation experience.
* Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* High level of emotional intelligence and discretion.
