Staff Specialist - Older Adult Mental Health
Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services are looking for a Staff Specialist to join their Older Adults Mental Health Team. The primary purpose of the role is to provide high quality psychiatric services to older consumers and demonstrate clinical leadership across the Older Adult Mental Health Service (OAMHS) and Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services (MSAMHS). The position provides direct psychiatric clinical services to Older Adult patients of MSAMHS and will support the strategic direction and ongoing development of MSAMHS and to contribute to the overall development and quality of services.

About the Role
1. Provide clinical leadership to the Logan Older Adult Team, working alongside the team leader and supported by a multidisciplinary team including an occupational therapist, social worker, psychologists, clinical nurses, CNC, dietician, exercise physiologist, and advanced peer worker. The team also has 1 registrar which the position holder will share with another part-time (0.6 FTE) senior medical officer.
2. Provide specialist community-based mental health services at Metro South Hospital and Health Service.
3. Provide inpatient care as required, including participating in the on-call roster.
4. Provide inpatient consultations as requested.
5. Participate in multidisciplinary clinics and meetings.
6. Supervise and teach registrars, junior doctors, and medical students, and provide teaching for other members of the multidisciplinary team.
7. Participate in or lead research and quality improvement activities.
