Current opportunity
Our Tax team is currently seeking a professional, enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Indirect tax team as a Senior Tax Consultant. The BDO Indirect Tax practice provides leading edge consulting advice on a range of Federal and State taxes including GST, Payroll Tax, Stamp Duty and Fuel tax credits.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
* Researching and drafting written advice for GST, payroll tax, stamp duty, and fuel tax credit purposes.
* Preparation and lodgement of BAS returns, including associated files and workpapers.
* Researching provisions of tax and indirect tax legislation and providing technical support to the manager and partner group.
About You
* University degree qualified – Accounting &/or Law
* 4-6 years' experience as a tax professional in a specialist taxation consulting role.
* Previous Indirect Tax experience in mid tier / Big 4 firm advantageous.
* Strong written communication skills – including drafting technical tax advice.
* Willingness to apply original thought to analysing and solving problems.
* Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
* Willingness and desire to learn.
* Ability to work autonomously.
* A proactive approach to working in a team environment.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Strong commitment to quality service and client relationships.
* Ability to work as a team member.
* Proficiency in MS Office applications.
