That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home or a bit of both, it's up to you.What you'd be doing in this roleBuilding effective and efficient iOS components to enhance mobile platform support.Leveraging technical solutions both mobile and frontend, and establishing mature connections with frontend teams to maximize the adoption of new mobile features.Engaging in technical and product design discussions with the team, setting up and executing strategic plans to resolve real-world problems.Contributing to defining, improving, and codifying best practices and methodologies for mobile engineering at Canva.Rallying knowledge sharing across mobile teams, supporting less experienced engineers to grow.You're probably a match ifYou have strong foundations in computer science and software engineering practices.You know how to leverage iOS native technologies and modern architectures to solve challenging problems.You have proven expertise in modern iOS development including a deep understanding of Swift language, concurrency, and reactive programming.You have good knowledge of frontend development using React and TypeScript; previous exposure to hybrid technologies is a plus but not essential.You can navigate through ambiguities and come up with the best technical solutions independently.You exemplify both attention to detail and strategic thinking by using your experience and best practices to develop reusable and testable code.About the teamThe Cross-Platform team at Canva is responsible for ensuring that Canva's frontend runs seamlessly across various platforms, particularly iOS and Android.
We own an in-house framework to manage web/mobile interaction using Swift, React, TypeScript, etc., ensuring Canva frontend can utilize native mobile features with ease.
This includes tasks such as enabling frontend/mobile communication, maintaining backward compatibility, ensuring smooth navigation, and conducting cross-platform testing.We play a critical role in Canva's mobile products as we're empowered to make Canva accessible and functional across different platforms, ensuring a consistent user experience.About the RoleYou'll get hands-on experience writing reusable code and technical documentation to build the platform supporting intuitive user experiences on iOS.
