Volunteer Role
We are seeking volunteers to assist with a variety of duties, including:
* Running Activity Groups: Facilitate or assist with group activities such as arts and crafts, music sessions, gardening clubs, exercise groups, and other recreational activities that encourage social interaction and well-being.
* One-to-One Room Visits and Chats: Provide companionship to residents who may be isolated or in need of personalised interaction, offering conversation and emotional support.
* Assisting with External Bus Outings: Support residents during scheduled outings to local community destinations, providing assistance with mobility, ensuring safety, and engaging in meaningful conversations.
* Calendar, Newsletter, and Memo Delivery: Assist with delivering important communications, such as the monthly calendar, newsletters, and memos, to residents' rooms.
* Gardening and Crafting Clubs: Support and encourage participation in gardening and crafting activities, helping residents create, maintain, and enjoy these hobbies and provide meaningful engagement.
* Exercise Groups: Assist in facilitating or leading light exercise/walking groups to promote mobility and physical well-being for residents.
* Supporting the Diversional Therapist: Help the Diversional Therapist with organising and tidying stores, preparing equipment, and ensuring activities are set up efficiently for resident participation.
* Cooking and Morning/Afternoon Tea Groups: Participate in or assist with cooking activities, including preparing and serving morning and afternoon tea for residents.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain confidentiality and adhere to organisational policies and procedures.
* Attend annual training sessions to stay up to date on hospital policies, procedures, and relevant safety and privacy regulations.
* Fulfill flexible commitments within agreed-upon days and hours.
