You will also ensure that food is prepared and presented in accordance with the relevant guidelines and legislation to provide a quality service that meets our residents’ needs.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with the catering service to meet patients’ food requirements. This will include food preparation, food storage, food hygiene, distribution, and serving meals.This position specializes in modified foods, taking it to the next level.Follow written protocols for special dietary requests.Assist with the preparation of the menus.Work with the food safety plan and legislative guidelines.Adhere to infection control, manual handling, and WHS procedures.Maintain efficient and open communication.What you bringExperience in bulk cooking and food preparation.Knowledge of nutritional requirements.Ability to plan menus to meet standards, e.g., Food Act and Occupational Health and Safety.Ability to order food to meet requirements of the menu cycle and keep within budget.Understanding of infection control and safety principles.Good communication skills and understanding of the needs of elderly people.Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment, e.g., stoves, ovens, etc.Completion of HACCP Food Safety Program (or willingness to obtain).A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission-based organisation.For further information please contact Phillip Handley, Hospitality Manager on phillip.handley@calvarycare.org.auWhy work for Calvary?At Calvary, our staff matter.
