St Mary's School is situated in the town of Beaudesert. We are a co-educational primary school with a current enrolment of approximately 370 students, offering the latest in teaching and learning, technology, and extracurricular activities. We are seeking to fill two roles; the first role is Workplace Health and Safety Officer (WHSO) and the second role is Risk and Compliance Officer to work closely with the principal and school community to undertake a range of WHS related tasks and duties.
Key aspects of the role include but are not limited to:
* The effective management of safety processes and efficient record keeping.
* Undertake WHS projects as directed by the leadership team.
* Follow compliance requirements generated through WHS reports.
* Undertake WHS review processes and recommend areas for improvement.
* Conduct classroom safety audits, compliance inspections, and provide recommendations.
* Assist and guide staff on the completion of risk assessments.
* Maintain student health plans.
* Provide and support site-specific health and safety training, including health and safety inductions, that meets BCE health and safety requirements.
* Coordinate the WHS committee on behalf of the principal.
* Work closely with BCE WHS staff members.
The successful applicant will hold/have/or be prepared to obtain:
* Senior First Aid Certificate.
* Strong IT skills and experience.
* Certificate IV Workplace Health and Safety Certificate.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills:
* Proven communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience with BCE systems such as Guardian and compliance database.
* Effective management of safety processes and efficient record keeping.

* Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
* Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
