We are looking for an Event Planner to join this high profile 7 day state organised event with over 1500 sessions. The main purpose is to : Assist with the planning, management and coordination of a range of events. The role works closely with other units within the Strategic Communications and Engagement team as well as business units across the department. Key accountabilities: • Plan, coordinate and deliver a series of events • Create a project plan and manage a work schedule to ensure effective planning of each project • Liaise with venue and logistics providers to book event venues, catering, audio visual, signage, performers, décor and equipment • Supporting technical logistics, including working with an AV provider, creating detailed technical run sheets, schedules and plans, to ensure events run smoothly • Assist with the preparation of budgets, tracking event expenditure, ensuring events expenses are processed, within identified budgets and services are provided to a high standard • Liaise with Departmental executives, key speakers and wider communication team to ensure they are effectively briefed and prepared for the required event • Collaborate with event project partners and other state and federal agencies, to ensure events are successfully managed and support the objectives of the Department • Work cooperatively within a team, exchange information and assist other team members to achieve team objectives and work outcomes Key challenges: • Delivering complex, multi day events with a range of stakeholders • Working on several projects simultaneously to tight deadlines and short lead times • Some work outside of standard work hours and some interstate travel If you have experience of the above and can work from 2nd of June till 31st October apply now.
