Operating since 1979, at Chelgrave Contracting Australia Pty Ltd, we are a dedicated Shutdown and Maintenance Specialists company. Looking ahead, we are now seeking enthusiastic candidates to join our exciting mechanical apprenticeship program in 2025.

As a Mechanical Apprentice, you’ll undertake a structured four-year rotation at BlueScope, Western Port, a respected Australian steel manufacturer. You’ll experience a professional, inclusive workplace with a robust safety culture (accredited to the AS4801 standard). All tools, uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) will be supplied and you’ll also have access to the following:
* extensive on- and off-the-job training to develop your practical skills and knowledge;
* state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment; and
* an attractive remuneration package.
When applying, please ensure that you address the minimum selection criteria:
* Successful completion of a full Year 10 education;
* A Certificate II in Engineering Studies would be highly regarded.
* aged 16 years and over (adult apprentice candidates will also be considered); and
* eligibility for employment in Australia.
Please include the following in your application:
* a cover letter (in your own words) on why you wish to undertake an apprenticeship; and
* a resumé that outlines your achievements to date and include your most recent school report, if you are still at school or have recently left.
You should also include any supporting information on the marks that you attained, courses that you attended, any part-time/full-time employment to date, your hobbies and interests and the names and details of two referees.
