The Role Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Product Developer / Technician to join their dynamic team.
In this role, you will work closely with the design team to bring innovative and distinctive designs to life, ensuring they are on-brand and ready for production.
Key Responsibilities Take ownership of allocated styles from conception through to bulk approval, ensuring timely and efficient development.
Create and amend technical drawings of designs using Adobe Illustrator for inclusion in tech packs, including construction annotations and specification measuring points.
Assess material and construction viability, providing recommendations to ensure optimal performance and design integrity.
Ensure all styles adhere to standard measurements and maintain consistency across the allocated size range, taking responsibility for the fitting of your own styles.
Compile clear, comprehensive fit comments for suppliers, ensuring they are submitted within critical path timelines.
Verify that graded specifications and tolerances are correct before giving final approval for styles to proceed to bulk production, and create the necessary graded specs (GS).
Liaise effectively with suppliers, maintaining open communication to ensure all production timelines are met and any issues are addressed promptly.
Source and maintain an organised library of fabrics and trims, ensuring materials are suitable for each design and readily available.
Accurately measure all samples and document them in tech packs, ensuring specifications are clear and detailed.
Attend all fittings, providing written feedback and working closely with the design team to ensure that the fit and construction align with the original design vision.
Oversee the development of tech packs for freelance designs, ensuring full ownership of the style from inception to completion.
Assess and provide guidance on fabric and trim testing/performance, ensuring materials meet both functional and aesthetic requirements.
Maintain an up-to-date block library in both the system and sample form, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all styles.
Update and maintain data integrity throughout the development process, ensuring accurate records are kept in Style Arcade (Product System).
Skills & Experience Minimum years of experience in a similar role: 3-5 years.
Womenswear fashion experience a must.
Aware of trends and new ideas within fashion and social, with the ability to interpret those.
Ability to balance business goals.
Ability to meet stringent deadlines, quickly managing changing priorities.
Ability to anticipate workload and communicate proactively with team members.
Superior organisational and communications skills.
Competent to advance in Microsoft Excel and Adobe Illustrator.
Style Arcade preferred, however not essential.
