The sweet things you'll be involved in: Sugar Australia has an exciting opportunity for an Asset Care Manager to join our team in a permanent full-time capacity, based at our Yarraville VIC site. Reporting to the site Operations Manager, this role will play a crucial part in establishing and leading best practice asset care strategies that support the efficient operation of our Yarraville facility. Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Leading and supporting the maintenance team in implementing Yarraville's asset care strategy, ensuring efficient and safe operations. Developing and implementing proactive asset care strategies to improve asset performance, reliability, and uptime. Managing and optimising maintenance budgets, resources, and critical spare parts to ensure effective asset maintenance. Ensuring maintenance activities align with site strategies, business budget requirements, GMP, quality, and safety standards. Overseeing maintenance shutdowns, ensuring optimal resource usage and trained supervision to minimise downtime. Managing people, plant, and processes to maintain a safe working environment, with a strong commitment to safety protocols and behaviours. Driving continuous improvement in predictive and preventative maintenance programs, focusing on cost efficiency. Supervising external contractors to ensure 24/7 maintenance coverage across refinery and packing operations. Developing and executing a critical asset management framework and maintenance materials strategy Providing leadership, coaching, and mentoring to the reliability and maintenance teams. Monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance efficiency, safety, and financial performance. Collaborating with the capital engineering team to ensure new equipment selection, installation, and commissioning align with Yarraville's reliability philosophy and total cost of ownership. What we're wanting you to bring to the table: This role is ideally suited to someone with extensive experience in heavy asset-based maintenance and leadership in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Minimum of 15 years' experience in engineering/trades, with at least 10 years in a leadership role in maintenance or reliability. Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Maintenance, or Asset Management. Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop staff. Strong business acumen and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Excellent planning and organisational skills with a strong focus on continuous improvement. Experience in a 24/5 or 24/7 continuous manufacturing environment (food industry experience is an advantage). SAP experience. Knowledge of industrial relations is desirable.
