Role Summary The Finance Coordinator is instrumental in supporting the financial and administrative functions of our organisation. This role involves a balance of financial management, reporting, and budget development /oversight. The Finance Coordinator collaborates with various teams to ensure efficient and transparent financial practices, thereby supporting the broader mission of the organisation. Key Responsibilities Financial Management: Oversee daily financial operations, including budgeting, invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and to support executive decision-making Grant Management: Track and manage restricted funds, grants, and other funding sources to ensure funds are used in alignment with donor and organisational requirements Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in annual budget development and monthly forecasting, working closely with the CEO and Program Managers to ensure budgetary alignment with program goals Compliance: Ensure adherence to not-for profit accounting standards and compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations Audit Preparation: Coordinate and prepare for annual audits, working closely with external auditors to meet regulatory standards Financial Strategy Support: Provide insights and data that help shape the financial strategy and sustainability of the organization About you Tertiary degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required) Minimum of 2 years of experience in finance or accounting roles, preferably in a not-for-profit setting Strong knowledge of not-for-profit accounting standards, fund accounting, and grant management Proficiency with accounting software (Xero) and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams Desirable - Experience with financial reporting for grants or government funding.
