Senior Projects Coordinator (Position Code: 1031) Roper Gulf Regional Council – Katherine NT Roper Gulf Regional Council delivers a wide range of municipal and community services and programs within one of the most spectacular and remote areas of the Northern Territory. The Council spans 201,000 square kilometers - almost three times the size of Tasmania - making Council's operational footprint one of the largest in the Northern Territory. There are five Wards that make up the Roper Gulf region - Never Never, Numbulwar - Numburindi, Nyirranggulung, South West Gulf and Yugul Mangi. About You: A minimum of Diploma in Engineering, Projects Management or related discipline, with considerable experience in project and construction management, or knowledge and skills acquired through the completion of a degree. Be an Australian Resident or provide the current, relevant Visa to work within Australia (Please note that RGRC do not currently undertake sponsorship). Current Criminal History Check (issued within three (3) months) or undertake Criminal History Check prior to commencement of employment and renew as required throughout the period of employment, or as per the Criminal History Check Policy. Current Northern Territory "C" Class Drivers Licence with manual driving capacity. Current Working with Children Clearance (OCHRE Card) required at the commencement of employment or a current receipt of an application for an exemption to be approved by SAFE NT. Position Summary: To support the management, monitoring and reporting of infrastructure project delivery through implementation of best practice Project Management principles, including contract management support for Council's Capital Works Program and other infrastructure projects. To work with Councils business units, risk practitioners and other stakeholder groups across the regional boundaries to develop and support the implementation of Council's community priority projects. To work with Community based staff to ensure efficient and timely management of Local Authority projects across the region. Key Requirements: Demonstrated knowledge and experience in construction principles and practices and building services. Demonstrated experience in the interpretation of legislative regulations and procedural guidelines. Well-developed organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work under strict deadlines and high-pressure environments while maintaining a high attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly the ability to draft correspondence and reports. Demonstrated ability to maintain and process information regarding complex contracts, agreements and project plans. Sound fundamental knowledge of financial management, reporting and data management. Sound decision making skills and the ability to exercise judgement within guidelines. Proven track record of developing constructive relationships by effectively managing the competing demands of diverse stakeholders. Well-developed word-processing and computer application skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team environment. Demonstrated sound knowledge of Work Health and Safety practices and principles. DESIRABLE Experience in technical services environment in a Local Government industry. Demonstrated experience and/or awareness of issues affecting people in remote Indigenous communities. Job Responsibility: 1. Service Delivery, Planning and Monitoring Provide a high level of technical support on project delivery activities for capital works across all of Council's infrastructure programs to ensure outcomes, timing, budget and other associated objectives are met in accordance with best practices. Regular report on the status of projects and activities. Assist in the establishment and maintenance of a forward infrastructure projects program and other infrastructure projects to ensure outcomes, timing, budget and other associated objectives are met in accordance with best practices. Monitor progress of projects to ensure that the milestones and performance indicators are met, including the preparation of project progress reports. Assist in the key stakeholder consultation undertaken for the delivery of infrastructure projects and forward programs. Assist in the preparation, lodgement and management of grant funding applications from external funding bodies for infrastructure projects. Support contract Management activities related to delivery of infrastructure projects and programs. Undertake other reasonable duties within the scope of the relevant level as directed by the Senior Management. Assist with executive support for Senior Management, including general correspondence, logistics and travel support, report preparation and generation. Coordinate the responses to various correspondences on behalf of the Assets and Project Manager and General Manager. 2.
