The opportunity… As a result of ongoing growth, we are seeking an experienced Risk Analyst to join our Line 2 team in Sydney. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the Line 2 function in the identification, assessment and mitigation of various inherent, residual and emerging risks, using quantitative analysis to support qualitative insights. Position Responsibilities and Accountabilities: As part of the Line 2 function you will lead continuous quantitative monitoring, measuring and analysis of the organisation’s prudency. You will lead the provision of technical reviews to enable the Chief Risk Office to provide adequate Line 2 oversight and assurance of financial risks on BAU and projects across the organisation. You will provide relevant, insightful and timely briefings to the Chief Risk Office on emerging and key risks to enable the provision of effective testing, challenging and discourse with Line 1 and our Board. You will lead the provision of ongoing subject matter expertise to the qualitative arms of the risk function to ensure that all elements of risk are considered. You will support the wider risk function via training, guidance and mentorship. What you will bring… At least 3 years of demonstrated financial risk management experience. Experience within financial services / general insurance industry would be highly regarded. Tertiary qualifications/professional certifications in actuarial studies, finance, economics, accounting, business analytics, data science, statistics or related discipline. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex risk information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Competence to analyse complex financial data, develop risk models, and derive actionable insights from quantitative and qualitative assessments. A high level of personal integrity as well as the ability to professionally handle confidential matters. You will have a genuine interest on how data analysis supports the identification of financial and regulatory risks and a pragmatic mindset with the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations.
