Australians rely on measurement every day to stay safe and healthy, to be confident they get what they pay for, and to level the playing field for business. NMI’s sovereign measurement capabilities underpin these outcomes for Australians, contributing to a Future Made in Australia and maintaining national and international confidence in Australian goods and services.About the Strategy and Operations branchThe branch’s remit is wide and includes leading NMI’s cross-branch activities in the areas of policy development, ministerial and government relations, digital transformation, stakeholder engagement, communications, workforce capability, change management, international relations, and work health and safety.Digital Transformation SectionDigital Transformation Section is currently a small team within the Strategy and Operations Branch of NMI responsible for:overseeing NMI’s multi-million dollar ICT budget allocation and delivery outcomes;developing NMI’s digital strategy, business cases and strategic engagement.The opportunityThis is a Non-Ongoing role for 12 months role. There may be an opportunity for extension or conversion to Ongoing employment.As part of the Digital Transformation’s section’s responsibility to oversee NMI’s ICT budget, a new Digital Program Management Office (DPMO) is being established. A specific IT background or deep technical IT skills are neither required, nor necessary.Ideal candidates will have personal drive and integrity in the context of the APS values, NMI values (Inclusive, Innovative, Accountable, Adaptable, Influential and Strategic) and code of conduct.Our department has a commitment to inclusion and diversity, with an ambition of being the best possible place to work.What you will doReporting to the Director, Digital Strategy, your duties may include:Leading the development or revising the PMO’s Benefits Management Plan, Risk Management Plan, Change Management Plan and Assurance Plan.Coordinating ICT project status reports including updating financial positions, highlighting risks, and supporting ICT project reporting requirements to NMI ExecutiveEngaging and collaborating with the Department’s IT division, including relevant IT project and product leadsLeading and coordinating change management activitiesSupporting the development of baseline data for benefits trackingDeveloping plans, schedules, meeting agendas and briefings for the Digital Transformation section and Strategy & Operations BranchSupporting procurement processes and relevant contract management within the SectionContributing to the Section’s overall objectives while also being flexible to be able to support new priorities that might emerge within the Branch or NMI more generally.Providing secretariat support for NMI’s ICT Transformation Program BoardEligibilityTo be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, candidates must be Australian Citizens.Positions require a Baseline security clearance and successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.NotesRemote working arrangements are available at the discretion of the business area.A merit pool may be established and used to fill future vacancies within 18 months from the date the vacancy was first advertised in the Gazette.Application informationYour application must not contain any classified or sensitive information.
