The Opportunity An exciting opportunity exists for a current geospatial science student to gain experience and use acquired skills in a team central to the management, analysis and visualisation of asset data in a growth Council. The Student GIS Officer will primarily support the Senior Geospatial Administrator in operational GIS functions of the broader Asset Management and GIS team. The successful candidate will gain exposure and provide input into a range of GIS projects and applications. Key Responsibilities Develop an understanding of a range of GIS applications and processes in a local government environment Improve the integrity of data held within Council’s asset management and GIS systems Provide input into GIS projects that require spatial analysis and visualisation Identify system improvements and efficiencies in workflow To view the Position Description, click here. About you To be successful in this role you will have the following: Current enrolment in a geospatial science course at a tertiary institution. Basic skills and knowledge in using desktop GIS for geometry and attribute creation, map production and analysis. Have developed skills in managing and time organising workloads. Be able to work both within a team, and remotely/individually.
