The Medicare Mental Health Centres, formerly Head to Health, are an important part of the Australia's reformed mental health and wellbeing system. The Medicare Mental Health Centre is supported by funding from Western NSW Primary Health Network through the Australian Government's PHN Program. The Dubbo and Bathurst Medicare Mental Health Centres will provide the community with a free, safe and welcoming space to access mental health advice, supports and services. About the service: The services in Dubbo and Bathurst are funded by the Australian Government, to provide a streamlined approach to support better mental health and social wellbeing across the country. The service is tailored to the needs of the community in regional NSW and provides a combination of peer-led recovery and clinical support. The Medicare Mental Health Centre provides a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for people experiencing psychological distress, providing an alternative to presenting to the Emergency Department for low risk individuals, and allowing them to access support from trained mental health professionals within their community, outside a clinical setting. Role overview: The Centre Manager leads and manages the mental health care team at the MMHC, to deliver effective and sustainable recovery oriented services to people with mental health issues and their families/significant others. Responsibilities of the role include oversight of clinical governance and service delivery, contract management, stakeholder and partnership engagement, financial and human resources management as well as maintaining oversight of compliance with funding and reporting requirements. Requirements: Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Social Work or Nursing A minimum 3 years' experience leading a team in a clinical environment and/or multidisciplinary health program management A commitment to ongoing service development and high standards for the best quality of evidence-based care for people with mental health issues and their families Highly developed communication (including written) and interpersonal skills Experience in strategic planning and complex program management, including planning of programs, identifying goals, associated tasks and timelines, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. In conjunction with the Finance department, support the Regional Manager to develop annual budgets, and monitor monthly profit & loss to ensure that the centres operate within budget Excellent interpersonal and communication skills supporting relationship building across all aspects of the role, including with consumers and their families, all levels of staff and management, and partner agencies and other stakeholders Experience in the use of electronic client/customer management systems, and experience with workforce management systems and Microsoft Office applications Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a WWCC and NDIS worker screening Stride is committed to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable people.
