Work with a team dedicated to supporting women and girls around the globe to save lives, defeat poverty and achieve social justiceHybrid / Flexible working environmentAbout the RoleThe CFO role will support CARE Australia through a period of strategic change and improvement, whilst also providing senior management of all day-to-day Financial functions and activities. The CFO will play a critical leadership role for the organisation - providing strategic and expert financial advice as well as being a people-focused and hands-on CFO leading a team going through significant change. The role will work to strengthen our financial capabilities and maturity, efficiently and effectively meet our compliance requirements and deliver on our strategic intent.Leading a small team your key responsibilities will include:Managing financial reporting across CARE Australia’s operations, including delivery of reporting to functional teams, the Executive Team and the Board.Leading the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial monitoring and reporting, including cash flow reporting across the four CARE countries.Identifying ways to improve cost efficiency and simplify and support the implementation of these changes as they pertain to the finance function.Providing expert financial advice and insights into key strategic projects for CARE Australia.Leading, managing and supporting the Finance team to continue to build a positive and empowered culture where all teams at CARE collaborate.Ensuring CARE Australia has appropriate systems and processes in place to manage legislative and compliance requirements as they relate to finance functions including financial audits, fraud control, CARE International policies, etc.Ideally you will have:Tertiary qualifications in accounting;Membership of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand or CPA Australia (Certified Practising Accountant);Expertise in project financial management with a deep understanding of the various INGO funding sources;Proven leadership and people management skills including the ability to inspire and drive sustainable high performance;Capacity to distil complex financial issues into accessible information for senior stakeholders and people outside of the Finance team;Prior similar experience in a senior finance leadership role and a strong knowledge of the INGO sector.Experience in the commercial sector will be highly regarded.Why Work with Us?This rewarding role will give you the opportunity to make a real difference and give you the chance to improve the world, advance gender equality through your work and contribute to change.Additional benefits include:Generous base salary and packaging benefits (up to $15,899 tax free)A flexible and supportive working environment including working from home options to support work-life balanceCareer Progression and professional development and training opportunitiesEmployee Assistance ProgramAdditional personal leave and annual leave in excess of National Employment StandardsTo apply please attach your CV and cover letter addressing the selection criteria.This will be a rolling recruitment process, with shortlisting and interviews being completed as applications are received.
