This role works as a key member of the multi-disciplinary team to provide flexible, holistic and culturally sensitive primary health care services, including direct clinical care, to Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities to achieve better health access and outcomes while they work towards meeting requirements for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner.The Aboriginal Health Unit at Dubbo Health Service provides a crucial link between the Health Service and the community.
They are essential in establishing and building relationships between Aboriginal patients and care clinicians to achieve the best patient outcomes.
They deliver culturally appropriate and clinically competent health care and health education to patients and assist in providing education to staff across the Health Service to ensure culturally appropriate service delivery.This position is operationally responsible to the Executive Team at Dubbo Health Service through the Aboriginal Health Unit Manager.
