Service Designers – APS6 & EL1APS6 $60.26 per hour + superEL1 $602.55 per day + super Canberra, Deakin12-month contractHybrid with Flexible Work ArrangementsWeekly PayThe Organisation:Our client is currently seeking multiple APS6 & EL1 Service Designers to join a team within a Federal Government Agency based in Deakin in the ACT.This Government body works with people with disability, providers, and the community to deliver nationally consistent, responsive, and effective regulation of service providers.
They seek to uphold the rights of, and promote the health, safety, and wellbeing of people with disability receiving supports or services.The Role:The role is in Participant Experience Design division and is the key driver of the Participant Service Improvement Plan and the Participant Service Charter.
The division's work is to design and deliver Scheme service improvements to provide quality participant outcomes and enhance experiences.The proposed start date is 28th of April 2025 and the initial contract term is for 12 months, working Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week with a payrate of APS6 $60.26 per hour plus super or EL1 $602.55 per day plus super.
This role is based in Deakin, ACT although some work from home may be available.
You must hold Australian Citizenship at the time of applying.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Leading research to contribute to agency understanding.Conducting qualitative and quantitative research.Documenting current service states and identifying participant and staff experiences.Managing process design improvements.Advocating for participants and stakeholders.Facilitating design-thinking sessions and testing future experiences.Applying knowledge of agency roles and impacts.Overseeing end-to-end service experiences to ensure consistency across touchpoints.To be considered you will demonstrate:Human-centred design: Proficiency in designing services and experiences that prioritise the needs and preferences of end users.User research: Ability to conduct both primary and secondary research, including developing research plans and guides, conducting user research including interviews, surveys and workshops to gain insights into user pain points and opportunities.Persona development: Creating user personas to represent different user groups and their characteristics.Journey mapping: Skill in creating user journey maps to visualise and improve the user experience.Service blueprinting: Proficiency in service blueprinting to define and map out service processes and enablers.Co-Design and Facilitation: Ability to lead co-design sessions with stakeholders and users to gather input and ideas.Design thinking: Strong understanding of design thinking methodologies and approaches.Usability testing: Experience in conducting usability testing to validate service design concepts and products.Desirable skills:Visual design: Proficiency in visual design principles to create aesthetically pleasing designs.Cross-functional collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively with other team members and stakeholders.Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with agile methodologies like Agile or Kanban.Application Requirements:Applicants must hold Australian citizenship.Be willing to undergo an Australian Federal Police Check and completion of the Agency's screening checks, including; Working With Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check.Application close 5pm Wednesday 26th of March.How to apply:If this role is of interest to you, APPLY NOW, with your current resume in MS Word format along with an expression of interest.
