The Opportunity: We are looking for a proactive and experienced Consultant or Senior Consultant to join our Sydney Heritage team as part of the wider national team.
You will have the opportunity to work across a deeply diverse, high profile, range of projects,?contributing to?reports and advice?for?our clients.
The role will be supported by National team of Directors and a market leading Heritage team.
Some of the key projects the heritage team have collaborated on recently include the Lands and Education Buildings Bridge Steet, Chief Secretary's Building, AMP Quay Quarter Circular Quay, Sydney Opera House, Victoria Barracks Paddington, Millers Point properties, Pier One Walsh Bay, Former Treasury Building, Australia Square, MLC Sydney and the State Theatre including the Butterfly Room interiors restoration.
About You: A consultant or senior heritage consultant position at Urbis would suit someone who has a 2- 5+ years' experience in a similar role or industry related discipline.
You would have a range of the following skills: * Ability to undertake heritage research utilising multiple sources and methodologies; and present a preliminary assessment of findings relevant to the project * Demonstrated understanding of architectural styles, basic fabric identification and analysis * Experience writing Heritage Impact Statements, Heritage Assessments and Conservation Management Plans * Detailed understanding of Heritage design principles and the ability to apply them * Demonstrated understanding of the application of statutory heritage and planning legislation to projects, particularly the Heritage Act 1977 * Have highly developed written and verbal communication skills * Develop reverse briefs, assist on tenders & submissions for potential projects * A lateral approach to problem solving, contributing to stakeholder negotiations and * Using your time management skills, work autonomously on multiple projects under the direction of senior staff * Project management skills.
Taking responsibility of project tasks meeting client needs, deadlines and budget.
* Displays an ability to contribute to innovative solutions to situations and effectively explores alternatives and positions to meet the objectives of stakeholders Other non-essential but relevant skills and qualifications applicable to the role depend on background and experience include any or; * Relevant industry experience in a heritage field * Architect or heritage architecture experience * European or aboriginal archaeological experience * Masters in heritage conservation or similar Why Urbis?
