The Ngurrara Indigenous Protected Area (IPA) Manager works together with the Ngurrara Ranger Team and the Ngurrara Traditional Owner group to ensure Ngurrara country is managed consistent with customary law and the Ngurrara Healthy Country Plan.
The Ngurrara IPA Manager will enhance community ownership, involvement and capacity to support the management of Ngurrara country through employment, skills development, governance, consultation, promotion and pride. This position will coordinate the implementation of the Ngurrara Healthy Country Plan through supporting the Ngurrara IPA Steering Committee, Ngurrara Rangers and project partners.
The position reports to the Yanunijarra Aboriginal Corporation Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and core responsibilities include:
1. Coordinating the Ngurrara Land Management program;
2. Directing and supporting activities of the Men's and Women's Ranger programs;
3. Providing on the ground support and coordination of activities in the annual work plan;
4. Overseeing the collection and secure storage of traditional knowledge;
5. Ensuring financial management and oversight of budgets and submission of program reports.
