About the role
The Rail Reliability Engineering team is currently seeking an Engineer Track Condition Monitoring to join them on a 4/3 day shift only FIFO roster based at Port Hedland.
Reporting to the Superintendent Reliability Engineering, you will provide technical expertise on our Rail Track Condition Monitoring (RTCM) system and analyse data to identify infrastructure trends, defects, and potential issues, ensuring the safety and efficiency of our rail operations. By adhering to established processes, procedures, and standards, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the Roy Hill Rail Network.
Duties
o Ensure defects are appropriately managed and recorded in the relevant computer systems
o Analyse data from the track recording vehicle
o Undertake site inspections, validate data outputs, and make recommendations
o Ensure the track is safe for the passage of trains by recommending TSRs where required
o Provide technical input into the development of strategy and systems required for track inspection
o Ensure timely and accurate input/output of inspection data into the various computer systems
o Monitor asset performance against the required level of reliability and availability
o Generate reports on asset condition and trending
o Providing technical support to the wayside team
o Provide technical expertise in the weekly and annual planning processes
o Undertake small track reliability improvement projects
Skills and Experience
o Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant Engineering degree
o Relevant industry experience and track maintenance experience
o Sound understanding of assets condition monitoring and analysis of data preferred (training will be provided)
o Experience with SAP system or similar beneficial
