Let's talk about the role and responsibilities We are seeking an experienced Fraud Data Modeler to join our Risk Technology team for one of our banking clients.
This pivotal role will be responsible for data modeling in relation to fraud risk management and ensuring the seamless ingestion of fraud-related data from systems such as Hunter, Falcon, and others into the GCP (Google Cloud Platform) environment.
The candidate will work extensively on implementing robust data models to support the layered architecture of the Fraud Data Hub.
This includes the staging, persistent, and consumption layers, with proper entity mappings and integration of Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD2) logic.
Data Modeling & Architecture: Design and implement data models for fraud detection systems (e.g., Hunter, Falcon) across staging, persistent, and consumption layers in the Fraud Data Hub.
Ensure data integrity using SCD2 techniques and best practices for structured and unstructured data in cloud environments.
Data Ingestion: Manage accurate data ingestion and transformation from various sources into the Cloud environment.
Streamline ETL processes to ensure efficient data flow across layers.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business users, fraud risk managers, and data engineers to meet data requirements and optimize high-volume fraud data pipelines.
Data Governance & Quality: Align models with data governance policies, ensuring quality, accuracy, and consistency.
Work with quality teams to resolve data integrity issues.
Technology & Best Practices: Leverage Cloud technologies for scalable fraud risk systems and implement sustainable, efficient data modeling best practices.

Let's talk about your capability and experience Experience & Knowledge: Expertise in fraud prevention, data management, and banking/financial crime management.
Experience in fraud detection systems (e.g., Hunter, Falcon) and layered architectures (staging, persistent, consumption).
Proven experience in data modeling for fraud risk management, preferably within a large financial institution (banking experience is highly desirable).
Strong knowledge of fraud detection systems like Hunter, Falcon, or similar fraud management platforms.
Experience with data modeling for layered architectures (staging, persistent, and consumption layers) and knowledge of SCD2 (Slowly Changing Dimensions) logic.
Hands-on experience with GCP (Google Cloud Platform) or similar cloud platforms, specifically for data warehousing, processing, and modeling.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, data modeling tools, and ETL technologies.
Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and technologies (Big Query, Data Proc, etc.).
Experience with file-based data ingestion, transformation, and processing.
Understanding of data governance, data security, and regulatory requirements, especially within fraud and risk environments.
Data Modeling Tools & Technologies (for logical, conceptual, and physical data modeling): Erwin Data Modeler, IBM Info Sphere Data Architect, Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler, or similar modeling tools.
Lucidchart or Microsoft Visio for visual representation of data models and workflows.
Cloud-native tools such as GCP Big Query, Cloud SQL, Data Flow, and Data Prep for modeling and transformation.
Experience in metadata management and the use of Data Catalogs (e.g., GCP Data Catalog, Alation, or Collibra) for data governance and lineage tracking.
Analytical & Communication Skills: Strong analytical skills to design effective data models from business requirements.
Effective collaboration with technical and business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications: Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related fields.
Experience in risk technology and banking fraud compliance.
Familiarity with banking regulations and compliance requirements related to fraud risk management.
Problem-solving, attention to detail, teamwork, and adaptability in dynamic environments.
