How you will spend your time: Due to continued growth, the CEO of the business is now looking for someone to assist with the day-to-day operations and optimising operational rhythms, processes and systems in support of the next growth chapter. The successful person needs to have a strength in Finance and be a brilliant operational executor, who knows the things to prioritise when scaling and also has a natural talent for inspiring people and taking them along the journey. Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) is accountable for executing the strategic plan of the business and guiding operations to deliver profitable growth. We are seeking a proven leader who has a track record of driving performance and scaling growth in similar businesses while maintaining high quality service and experiences for customers and team. As the COO, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the organisation as well as ensuring financial diligence overseeing all aspects of Finance and Operations. Things to celebrate and accountability areas include: Building trust with key stakeholders to effectively manage all day-to-day operations Developing an effective reporting suite of information and metrics enabling faster and effective decision making Maintaining and adding to their existing rhythms of execution around communication structures, accountability frameworks and operational requirements Continuing to build a great workplace culture and a positive employer value proposition Monitoring financial performance and implement cost-effective measures. Ensuring effective resource and asset utilisation Overseeing and continually improving all aspects of the employee life cycle Delivering exceptional customer experiences with a commitment to quality The fine print: There is a full position description however some of the key responsibility areas will be: Management Operational efficiency Planning and Forecasting Financial Management People Leadership The ideal background we are looking for: A minimum of 3 years prior General, Senior Management or C-suite level with proven prior relevant experience in a similar role. Prior background of a Chief Financial Officer or senior Financial Controller viewed favourably Prior experience in scale up, fast paced, high growth environment who enjoys both a hands-on requirement through this phase as well as a strategic understanding of commercial focus areas that make a difference CA/CPA qualification is preferred. Practical planning and execution skills with a successful track record of implementing value adding sustainable improvements and systems of work Strength in finance (including forecasting and budgeting), creating and working with financial models and developing meaningful metrics and reporting dashboards Commercial acumen, attuned to important profitability drivers Results and achievement orientated Mentoring skills with the ability to share knowledge and grow team members High computer fluency (particularly in forecasting and business improvement systems and tools) High level of energy, enthusiasm and undeniable strong work ethic with a good sense of humour Why consider working for Alpha One?
