About The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Financial Analyst to join our Sydney-based finance team providing expertise to ATCO’s Energy Infrastructure division in Australia. The role is critical in supporting decision-making, and the development and execution of business strategy through the provision of financial modelling, project reporting, and financial control.
In this role, you will develop new financial models, manage, and update existing project models, perform project due diligence, and prepare internal and external presentations. The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience with financial modelling, and a proven ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders.
What You Will Contribute To:
1. Supporting assessment and evaluation of new business opportunities using financial models with recommendations based on ATCO's objectives and risk/reward profile
2. Contributing to developing presentations, financial budgets, tracking costs, and investigating variances
3. Maintaining the corporate forecasting model for ongoing business planning process
4. Supporting negotiations to protect and enhance ATCO's position
5. Developing advanced financial modelling, analysis, reporting, and ad-hoc analysis for strategic initiatives
6. Creating, analysing, and dissecting complex financial models with no adverse audit findings
7. Collaborating with stakeholders to improve negotiation position and probability of achieving desired value proposition
8. Involvement in business case development, due diligence, and post-acquisition integration
9. Researching and analysing target markets/segments and integrate findings into evaluations
10. Supporting documentation, submissions, and recommendations for informed investment decisions
11. Assisting ATCO business development teams to reach project financial close
12. Providing ad hoc analysis for executive presentations, strategic planning, board presentation deliverables, corporate initiatives, and forecasting.
What You Will Bring:
13. A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Economics, Commerce, or related technical disciplines, and ideally possess an MBA or CFA post-graduate education.
14. Strong experience as a Commercial or Financial Analyst in a similar role, ideally in an accounting firm, a consulting firm with a recognised energy market practice, a corporate which is a NEM market participant or a renewable project developer.
15. Specialist knowledge of project/economic financial evaluation metrics and thresholds and are able to perform due diligence and evaluate the financial viability of new projects and opportunities.
16. Strong analytical skills and experience in complex financial modelling and have an applied understanding of the technical elements of projects, including engineering, costs, and integration.
17. Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and be able to work effectively individually and in a team.
