**About Our Hospital**
We are a major regional hospital that has received a prestigious award for our team's outstanding work in driving change and improving health outcomes for the Victorian community.
Our hospital offers a wide range of specialist health services, including hospital-based, sub-acute, and mental health services.
We are currently undergoing a significant expansion, which will bring many benefits to our patients, including improved maternity and paediatric facilities, a larger intensive care unit, more medical and surgical beds, and additional operating theatres.
This is an exciting time to join our team!
Department and Role
The Anaesthesia department provides clinical anaesthesia to all major surgical specialties (except cardiac and neurosurgery).
We have a busy general surgical service, with regular sessions with visiting specialist thoracic surgeons, urologists, and ENT surgeons (including paediatrics).
Our vascular intervention suite is active, and we are also growing our cardiac catheterisation laboratory.
Plans are underway for a 'hot STEMI' service, which will increase opportunities for interested anaesthesiologists to be involved in caring for patients with more complicated cardiac disease.
The Orthopaedic Surgical service is busy, with daily elective and emergency lists.
Major joint replacements and orthopaedic trauma are common occurrences.
We also have a busy Elective and Emergency Obstetric service, which functions as the regional referral centre for higher-risk obstetrics.
The Department of Anaesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine has developed a unique partnership with a leading tertiary health service in Victoria.
This partnership offers a rare opportunity for collaboration in research, education, and clinical practice between two large health services.
There is potential for dual appointments by mutual agreement, making this an attractive option for the right candidate.
