The Opportunity:
This is a permanent full-time opportunity.
Working as a member of the leadership team, the Executive Manager provides high level confidential executive support to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the department’s objectives in a time of significant change.
This is a new and exciting role primarily responsible for:
1. High level Executive support including coordinating, managing, and reporting on a range of matters including transitional arrangements to establish the Approvals Portfolio.
2. Stakeholder management - working effectively with a diverse team of professionals in a time of rapid and ongoing change.
3. Develop and deliver products and services as directed by the Deputy Director General to the required standards within the required timeframes.
4. Managing multiple and sometimes competing priorities to ensure strategic objectives are met.
The Executive Manager is a unique and extremely important role within the department. Your strong background and understanding of the nuances and challenges in policy and organisational matters will enable you to provide high level advice. You are an individual who is confident in researching an issue before providing advice. You lean on your tested and comprehensive networks and are fluent in the mechanics of government. When it comes to providing advice, you understand the need to be ‘frank and fearless’; ensuring your audience is fully informed and able to take confident, decisive action.
Along with being an informed and self-assured individual, you understand what it means to serve the Government of the day across the key deliverables of the department. You have a well-developed and thorough understanding of how the public sector works and understand and foster relationships between the department and our partners. You possess tested people skills allowing you to confidently work with and influence those around you. You are self-driven and love a challenge; the routine isn’t a space for you. You pride yourself on being extremely trustworthy and discrete in your work.
Although demanding, this is a role where you are involved in high-level organisational direction setting, where you can influence decisions. It is an extremely rewarding position, where you are empowered to make bold and purposeful decisions which will assist with positioning the department for success.
