The Natural Reserves Coordinator is responsible for the operational and strategic direction of the natural reserves team.
You will be leading a team that protects, maintains, and presents our culturally and environmentally significant coastal reserves.
The position covers all aspects of natural reserves management, including:
The strategic development and implementation of the coastal reserve's annual works program, ensuring that Barwon Coast can achieve its priorities in the Coastal and Marine Management Plan 2020 / 2025.Implement conservation actions and strategies from the Vegetation management plan and biodiversity strategy and other related strategic plans.Strong people leader responsible for overseeing all activities within the team, maintaining a team-oriented environment, managing, rostering, developing staff and building a positive workplace culture.Develop and implement the coastal reserve's annual works programme.Lead conservation projects to improve cultural, biodiversity and conservation values.Develop and implement pest, plant and animal programmes.Manage budgets and deliver capital and operational projects.Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies and community groups.Ensuring Barwon Coast policies and procedures are adhered to.About youThe Natural Reserves Coordinator will be a skilled individual who can lead and develop our Natural Reserves team whilst providing clear, forward-thinking leadership.
Tertiary qualification and or extensive practical experience relating to land and natural resource management.Experience in effectively leading, managing and coaching staff, including the capacity to manage volunteers and contractors.Possesses excellent project management and organisational skills.Has a passion for conservation and public land management.Can effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.Is adaptable, innovative, and thrives in a dynamic environment.Experience in budget management and project delivery.Promotes a positive workplace culture demonstrating the values of Commitment, Authenticity, Respect and Excellence.If you're ready to take on a full-time, rewarding leadership role in natural resource management, we want to hear from you.
