A well-known financial services organisation, based in Sydney requires a Senior Procurement Lawyer who will be responsible for delivering legal advice and support for the Bank's procurement and commercial activities.
Your new role
This position entails drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various commercial contracts to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. The Senior Procurement Lawyer will be crucial in minimising legal risks, protecting the Bank's interests and achieving efficient and effective procurement results.
Responsibilities :
* Contract Drafting and Negotiation
* Compliance - including APRA Prudential Standards (CPS 231, CPS 232, CPS 234, and incoming CPS 230), privacy laws, and the Modern Slavery Act.
* Procurement Advice - Help identify and mitigate potential commercial and legal risks.
* Stakeholder Management - Collaborate with internal procurement, finance, cyber, risk, and other departments & external legal counsel.
What you'll need to succeed
* Extensive experience as a Procurement Lawyer.
* Admitted to practice law in Australia.
* SME in Procurement / Contracts.
* Retail banking / FS experience, mid/top-tier law firms - particularly in procurement and technology contracts.
* FinTech background highly desirable.
* Strong understanding of contract law.
* Proven ability to manage competing deadlines, confidently apply the law, and thrive in environments of uncertainty and change.
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and organisational skills.
