Payroll Manager - Sydney Office - Permanent Full Time
The stability of Domain’s payroll function is crucial to our ability to deliver on our marketplace strategy and retain our people. Reporting to the Head of Shared Services and Reward, The Payroll Manager will provide strategic direction, guidance and oversight of the Payroll function along with driving operational effectiveness and managing risk for a critical function within the organisation.
The role is responsible for the efficient and effective management of the payroll function, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in accordance with statutory regulations and Company policies across our geographical locations.
The role will ensure financial accuracy, strong governance and ensure employee morale and trust remains high. It will be crucial to managing and mitigating risk and ensuring that Domain’s payroll strategy remains ‘fit for purpose’ and evolves as the business’ needs change.
This will see you:
1. Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring the overall governance and compliance of the payroll function is maintained at a high standard, adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations across all regions (Australia, New Zealand and Philippines)
2. Identify and implement optimisation strategies to drive efficiencies within the payroll operating model that aligns to the overall business strategy
3. Improve reporting capabilities, providing insightful analysis to support business decisions
4. Provide strong leadership, mentoring, and guidance to the payroll team, fostering a culture of growth and development
5. Continue to develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders (ATO and the external market)
Who are you?
The ideal candidate will have:
6. Experience leading and driving positive change in the process, system, and data transformation in the payroll operating model
7. Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop capabilities to achieve a high-performing team
8. Ability to think collaboratively when developing optimisation strategies within the payroll operating model, aligning works to the broader business strategy and plan.
9. Comprehensive understanding of payroll compliance and governance, with the ability to manage risk effectively
10. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to improve reporting capabilities and provide actionable insights
11. Demonstrated ability to implement and manage scaled change initiatives, driving efficiency and optimisation
12. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage, influence and actively collaborate well with stakeholders at all levels
13. Experience in managing payrolls in geographically diverse locations is desired
