Job Description Fire and Emergency Coordinator $128,409 - $143,815 super Sydney location Permanent About the Company A NSW government organisation is seeking a Fire and Emergency Coordinator to join their Facilities Management team based in Sydney. This is a full time permanent position paying $128,409 - $143,815 super. About the Role Provide coordination and management of scheduled and ad-hoc fire and emergency services, ensuring works are completed on-time, within scope and budget, and to a high quality of workmanship, whilst ensuring continuity of property services with minimum disruption to business operations. Build strong delivery relationships and work closely with outsourced service providers, integrating their staff into the Facility Compliance team, in order to manage the state-wide day-to-day delivery of, but not limited to: Annual Fire Safety Statement (AFSS) program, provision of First Aid and Fire Warden Role Description Fire and Emergency Coordinator 2 OFFICIAL services and training, Evacuation services, coordination of Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs). Conduct regular site inspections to assess the asset condition, identify repairs, safety hazards and risks, support HSSEQ audits, quality assess completed works, identify and scope future operational project requirements, validate asset information and build relationships with local teams. Travel to Sydney Metropolitan and Regional and Outer Metropolitan sites is required. Provide technical subject matter advice, guidance and support to local teams for fire and emergency planning, to ensure service providers are meeting the required standards, and management meet their obligations, with respect to nominating first aid officers and fire wardens. Schedule, support, monitor and review the conduct of fire and emergency exercises/drills across state wide sites, working with key stakeholders and service providers to identify issues and facilitate decision making. Collaborate with management to support the implementation of agreed actions arising from post-incident reviews, exercises, safety reports and assist with reporting the status of these to management. Collaborate with external service providers and senior management in ensuring the development of practical, outcome focused approaches, to managing fire and other emergency situations. Ensure that fire and emergency procedures, guides, templates, fire warden and first aid officer lists and information for Sydney Metropolitan and Regional and Outer Metropolitan sites are up to date. Provide secretariat support to the Sydney Emergency Planning Committee and any other Regional and Outer Metropolitan committees. Skills & Experience Experience interpreting maps and spatial data. Ability to read and analyse Deposited Plans and Strata Plans accurately. High attention to detail and accuracy in managing spatial and property data. Experience with Local Government Property and Land Information Systems, particularly Pathways or the ability to quickly learn and adapt to these systems. Understanding of the NSW Planning System, including Planning Certificates and LEP maps. Basic GIS knowledge to communicate issues to the Spatial team.
