You're not just a cog in the wheel; you're a luminary like our beloved Morris themselves.All About the RoleAs an Assistant Manager at Morris, you are in charge of the day-to-day operations of this beautiful boutique hotel, inclusive of Front office and Food and Beverage.Additional InformationHotel Morris is an 82-room hotel that opened in June 2023. We have a small team with a 'family' mentality where we help each other.The successful candidate for this role can speak English and has similar experience, with a passion for making a guest smile and maintaining a clean room. You will lead your own team on the weekend when our housekeeping manager is away or on leave.You MUST be able to work a flexible roster and weekends.Job DescriptionReporting to the Operations Manager, you will be:Overseeing operations and maintaining a highly visible presence in Front Office and guest contact areas (i.e., Lobby, Food & Beverage outlets, and Housekeeping).Assisting/covering Night Audit in the event of any medical emergencies with the overnight team.Reviewing arrival lists and anticipating guest needs. Maintaining an active liaison with Housekeeping, Guest Relations, and Food and Beverage to ensure exceptional guest service.Meeting and greeting VIP guests and attending to special requests. Escorting guests to rooms as directed.Maintaining complete knowledge of all room types, hotel matrix, and facilities.Ensuring optimum staffing levels in all areas of the hotel (utilizing associates on site as necessary).Addressing and resolving major complaints. Communicating problems to management and advising on steps taken to resolve, including responses to guest feedback surveys.Managing any emergency situations, leading the staff, responding, and conducting detailed incident reports. All Duty Managers are Fire Wardens.Maintaining a high level of product and service knowledge to explain and sell services and facilities to guests. Keeping up to date with current guest, restaurant, and functions activities.Conducting training in Security and Fire Evacuation procedures with assistance from the Chief Engineer. Ensuring security procedures are in place for the area and that security checks are conducted during each shift.Conducting shift briefings and ensuring effective shift handovers.
