About This Opportunity As Manager, Policy, you will support the University of Queensland by advancing policy management and building policy maturity across the institution. You will be part of a collaborative team focused on providing strategic guidance, maintaining the Policy and Procedure Library, and driving improvements in policy processes and reporting to align with UQ’s goals and regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Providing strategic oversight for policy governance, reviewing frameworks and implementing enhancements. Managing the University’s Policy and Procedure Library and liaising with the system vendor. Assisting with UQ’s delegations framework and supporting policy development within the Governance and Risk Division. Preparing reports on policy metrics, maintaining governance records, and fostering clear communication on policy matters. About You Postgraduate qualifications in Business Administration, Law, or a related field and extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training and/or qualifications. Proven extensive policy experience in a large and complex organisation, preferably with the higher education sector. In-depth knowledge of governance principles. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior executives. Exceptional organisational and project management abilities. Analytical mindset with the capability to assess complex policy issues and provide practical solutions. Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead policy initiatives. Proficiency in relevant software and tools for policy management, board management and record keeping.
