About the business
Our client is a highly recognisable national brand with a dedication to bringing excellent products to customers and the community. The business has undergone an impressive growth cycle, scaling significantly with a mix of innovation and investment. Forward-thinking and agile in its approach, you'll be joining a business with a 'big' feel but the ability to quickly adapt to meet market trends.
About the role
The NPD Project Manager role is a critical new appointment to tie together cross-functional projects, focused on getting innovative food products to market while meeting the requirements of a more robust StageGate process. You will be working with a stakeholder group across technical, supply chain, marketing, and operations among others, initially focusing on short-term 'sprint' projects while looking at longer lead time business continuity projects concurrently. In this role, you can expect:
* End-to-end cross-functional project delivery, reporting into a senior functional manager.
* Working across a diverse mix of projects, including product, packaging, seasonal offerings, and value engineering.
* Exposure to customer-led innovation - tapping into market insights and consumer data to engage with your core buying portfolio.
What we're looking for
* Tertiary background in food science/chemistry/microbiology or similar - this is a technical innovation PM role, so a grounding in these subject matters.
* Demonstrated experience in either a formalised Project Manager role or a Food Technologist/Innovation role working on end-to-end project management and delivery.
* High-level communication skills, able to deliver technical subject matter expertise to non-technical stakeholders across other functional disciplines.
* Data-driven approach - someone who can infer from insights and extrapolate that to tangible, business-centric outcomes.
