Job Description - Federal Work-study, Human Resources Student Assistant (STU002010)DescriptionThe HR Student Assistant provides general administrative support to the Office of Human Resources. This role is vital in ensuring smooth operations within the HR suite and supporting various HR functions.Key Responsibilities:Serve as the first point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and visitors at the front desk of the HR suite. Greet guests and handle general HR inquiries received via departmental phone numbers and email.Assist with various HR administrative tasks, including ensuring I-9 compliance, scanning and indexing personnel records, auditing job descriptions and alternative work arrangements to align with internal databases, preparing for new employee onboarding, and maintaining inventory records.Support HR staff with special projects, such as photography; graphic design; communication planning and execution; data entry and auditing; and updating webpages.Assist in planning, executing, and representing HR at events and programs as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesThis position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.QualificationsMust be a current UHD student.Must have been awarded Federal Work-study from the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.Must be available to work 19.5 hours a week, Mon-Fri 8 AM - 5 PM.Required Attachments by Candidate: Resume, Financial Aid Award Letter, Class ScheduleUniversity of Houston-DowntownOne Main StreetHouston, TX 77002713-221-8000
