We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join our high performing and progressive team. This is a fantastic career opportunity and will offer exposure to all Kmart Group divisions.
What you’ll be doing
As a Financial Accountant working for Kmart Group you will:
* Participate in project work, including implementation of strategic projects.
* Ensure all assigned journals, accruals, reconciliations and reports are prepared in accordance with the Wesfarmers group reporting requirements in a timely manner.
* Gain exposure to the preparation of half yearly statutory reporting deliverables, including impairment testing and key audit deliverables.
* Prepare and collate KPI data and insurance renewal materials.
* Identify risks and opportunities for the business.
* Update projects, systems and policies as required.
To be successful in this role you’ll have:
* 2-3 years’ experience in a mid-large scale corporate business with a good understanding of accounting principles.
* Proficiency in the use of Financial Systems (i.e. SAP), including completing ledger reconciliations.
* Professional accounting qualification (CA or CPA) or in progress.
* Strong computer software skills, including advanced knowledge and use of Excel.
* Ability to drive improvements and meet deadlines.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Advanced problem solving and analytical skills.
