John Hunter Children’s Hospital (JHCH) is part of The Children, Young People and Families Directorate of Hunter New England Local Health District. It is one of three tertiary children’s hospitals in NSW, the only one situated outside of a capital city.
About the job:
1. As the Clinical Support Officer for the Paediatric Medical Ward, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient functioning of staff support services within the ward. You will provide crucial support to the Nurse Unit Manager in staffing, payroll and data collation, enabling them to focus on delivering high-quality patient care. This role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively.
2. Ward H1 is a 24 bed General Medical Unit catering for patients aged from birth to 18 years old, requiring care from many different specialties. Specialities include General Medicine, Respiratory, Neurology, Endocrine, Gastroenterology and Infectious Diseases.

4. In this role you will join an existing team of Administrative Staff and participate in an orientation and onboarding program.

Requirements:
Our successful candidate will possess the following:
12. Hold a Certificate III in Health Administration.
13. Previous experience in Healthcare Administration or a related field is highly desirable.
14. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
15. A highly organised and efficient Clinical Support Officer to support our Nurse Unit Manager in the smooth operation of our Paediatric Medical Ward.
16. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
17. Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office applications and electronic medical records systems.
18. Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and data management.
19. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a Multidisciplinary Team environment.
