We serve students from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds who have struggled to engage with mainstream education. Our goal is to reengage students, enhance literacy and numeracy skills, and support their next steps, whether returning to mainstream education, pursuing a TAFE/RTO pathway, or preparing for the workforce.
Core Workplace Objectives
* Preparation and delivery of programs aligned with the appropriate curriculum.
* Enhancing classroom effectiveness through improved teacher knowledge, practice, and professional engagement to achieve higher teaching and learning standards.
* Ensuring effective use of time and resources in delivering classes aligned with students' individual learning and pathway plans.
* Promoting the school’s alternative education model to ensure student goals and personal outcomes are achieved, focusing on “Changing the Lives of Young People”.
Workplace Tasking & Key Responsibilities
Teaching duties are aligned with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. Key responsibilities include:
* Writing curriculum adjustments for students, with an understanding of the Victorian curriculum (F-10 highly regarded).
* Planning, writing, and delivering structured lessons that differentiate and personalize learning.
* Embedding best practice pedagogy into lesson plans to engage students.
* Collaborating in a small team to implement feedback.
* Participating in coaching and mentoring programs.
* Supporting students with diverse learning needs, including disabilities and behavioral disturbances, personalizing learning according to the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD).
* Collaborating to create Individual Learning Plans for all students.
* Embedding strategies from Individual Learning Plans in lessons.
* Providing timely and specific feedback to support student learning growth.
* Assessing and reporting on student achievement and progress.
* Managing student behavior with an understanding of trauma-informed practices.
* Building positive relationships with students while maintaining professional boundaries.
* Supporting students to achieve success.
Minimum Requirements:
* Qualification in Teaching.
* Annual National Police Checks.
* Current VIT registration.

Remuneration:
* Level 12 – Level 18 (AWCC Enterprise Agreement 2022-2025) $95,593 - $123,690 + super based on training and experience.
