About The Role

Our HR clients range from sole traders hiring their first employees to medium-sized organisations looking for assistance with specific HR projects. As trusted advisors to their business, we get to know the business owner and their staff, offering a personalised service when they need it.
We provide support across four main areas:
1. Compliance – We ensure that our clients are getting the basics right around managing their people, including contracts of employment, award interpretation, benchmarking, HR policies, systems and procedures.
2. Growth – Advice and support with workforce planning, job design, position descriptions, recruitment and onboarding of staff.
3. Performance – Delivery of training and development programs, performance management systems and advice on increasing the performance of our client’s staff.
4. Fire Fighting – Support in the management of day to day HR issues. From basic questions on how to manage leave through to terminations and everything in between, we offer the right advice at the right time whenever our clients have an HR related question.
Our services range from ad-hoc advice to ongoing support packages customised to the size and complexity of the business. Our current clients come from a range of industries, including building and construction, retail, hospitality, allied health, professional services, the arts, and community services.
Please note that there is a requirement for this role to support end to end recruitment from time to time in consultation with our Recruitment Advisor as a part of managing client relationships. However, we do not operate under a business development model.
There is also scope for this role to take on the delivery of Outplacement programs, depending on your background and interest.
About You
To join our team, you must genuinely be passionate about helping others, which is at the core of what we do. You have a professional presence with the ability to quickly build rapport with people, allowing you to uncover their real issues to provide the right advice.
You will have worked in Human Resources for several years in an operational role providing hands-on support. You may not have experience in all areas of HR, but you are willing to learn and grow with the position. A qualification in HR is highly desirable but not essential if you have the right experience and keep up to date with award changes and issues in employment law. Experience with salary benchmarking and strong Excel skills are highly desirable.
Above all, you need to be flexible as you never know what our clients will surprise us with on any given day. Your ability to prioritise and organise yourself to ensure a high standard of service will be critical to your success. You will have well-developed skills with Microsoft Office suite and are comfortable with technology and cloud-based systems. As there are times when the team is working remotely, you need to have the aptitude to independently find answers and research problems.
We work with clients all around Australia, so experience with cloud-based video software such as Zoom will be a bonus. A current driver’s license will also be essential as we often meet locally based clients on site.

This is a Permanent Part Time role, 25 – 32 hours per week with the potential to grow with the business needs. You can choose to work remotely, spending time in our Torquay office when needed or meeting with clients on-site. The days and spread of hours are negotiable, but we would prefer you are available at least 4 to 5 days each week.
Remuneration will be commensurate with the experience and expertise you bring to the role.
