The Department of Health is seeking suitably qualified applicants for a Registered Nurse - Alcohol and Other Drug (526210) vacancy.
Please note this position is also being advertised as an Alcohol and Other Drug Senior Counsellor (526210d) and only one position will be filled on merit.
The Team:
Alcohol and Drug Services (ADS) is a part of the Department of Health (DOH) that cares for the needs of clients accessing treatment for Alcohol and other Drugs in Southern Tasmania. The service operates on a Multidisciplinary team model of care, focusing on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for consumers, the workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
The Role:
* Delivers a high-quality alcohol and other drug treatment service in accordance with relevant Government Legislation and Regulations, Primary Health Care Principles, Alcohol and Drug Service (ADS) policies, procedures and protocols, and relevant professional competencies.
* Provides comprehensive clinical assessments, treatment, and case management services to clients (and their families/carers) of ADS utilising evidence-based best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.
* Provides a comprehensive assessment and treatment service for people and their families/carers with multiple and complex needs, including co-morbid alcohol and other drug and mental health issues.
* Acts as a consultant to other agencies regarding the support and management of clients with alcohol and other drug needs and promotes community awareness in relation to alcohol and other drugs.
Details of appointment:
Permanent full-time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. *Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $78,179 to $105,995 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
* Access to the Grade 4 salary range $99,455- $105,995 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.
Salary Packaging:

Benefits available to eligible candidates:
* Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full-time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.
* Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
* Completed or working towards post graduate qualifications in AOD.
* Current Driver’s Licence.
