Our role in the National Energy Market is pivotal – from powering essential services and enabling renewable energy generation to connecting with other states.As Real Time Operations Manager, you will be accountable for the leadership of the transmission controllers and the control space, ensuring safe and effective operation of the network and NEM within engineering principles, rules, regulations, and contracts.
This role will also maintain a customer-focused operations and facilitate the delivery of approved works programs and the resolution of system events.This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:Oversee the monitoring, control and response functions of the 24/7 Transmission Operation Control (TOC) room and real-time activities.Ensure optimum network performance is maintained with timely network security decisions, work coordination, operational switching and access to the network to ensure effective, safe program delivery.Collaborate with VicGrid, AEMO and other key stakeholders on Transmission Operational Planning.Monitor and improve the performance of the Transmission Electricity Network by driving greater efficiency around network access, network control, and incident response.Drive for greater network (NEM) outcomes ensuring high customer and stakeholder satisfaction while maintaining compliance obligations.Provide leadership for delivery partner contracts and strategic partnerships, ensuring service, safety, and standards are met while achieving cost savings and fostering long-term, effective relationships.You don't need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:Degree in electrical engineering (operational, power system, network planning) with the ability to hold Victorian engineering registration.Demonstrated experience working in the transmission network environment with knowledge of safety & operational obligations and risks.Comprehensive knowledge of the transmission network of Australia, and the role of the TNSP within the National Energy Market.Understanding of the compliance and performance requirements of outage standards and network incentive schemes related to the NEM and Transmission Network.Expert knowledge of network continuity and security of supply within the transmission network.Demonstrated experience in implementing operational and productivity improvements in a complex environment.Strong commercial acumen with the ability to think strategically and understand and implement the strategic objectives.People leadership skills.Emergency Response: Customers and community are at the heart of everything we do.
