ABOUT THE PROJECT
DCOH has been engaged to deliver the proposed new Civic Centre project, a transformative $150 million development designed to reflect Darwin’s cultural heritage and meet its growing needs.
Key project highlights include:
·Large-Scale, High-Value Commercial Project
The $150-million Civic Centre project offers significant opportunities for hands-on experience in contract administration and procurement, managing complex budgets, including $77 million in council contributions and balance provided by DCOH.
· Diverse and Multifaceted Scope
The project encompasses a variety of functional spaces, including customer services, council chambers, office areas, and a public plaza, alongside operational elements like carparking and building infrastructure.
· Commitment to Long-Term Community Impact
With construction expected to create over 500 jobs and designs honouring Galamarrma, the Tree of Knowledge, this project aligns with principles of sustainable development and cultural respect.
WHO YOU ARE
·A highly skilled Site Manager with proven experience in overseeing large-scale commercial construction projects.
·Passionate about delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget, while maintaining a strong focus on safety and operational efficiency.
·Experienced in managing day-to-day site operations, coordinating teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders effectively.
·Adept at problem-solving, identifying potential site issues early, and implementing proactive solutions.
·A leader who fosters a positive site culture, ensuring high standards of performance, safety, and quality.
·Proficient in construction management software and project management tools, with strong organisational skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
·Oversee all day-to-day site operations for the Darwin Civic Centre project, ensuring smooth coordination of trades and resources.
·Monitor site progress to ensure timely completion and resolve any on-site issues.
·Collaborate with the Construction Manager to maintain an efficient, safe, and productive work environment.
·Ensure subcontractor availability and manage effective scheduling to maximise site productivity.
·Review building practices and implement improvements to ensure quality and efficiency.
·Enforce compliance with health, safety, and quality standards on-site.
·Lead and supervise the on-site team, fostering a positive and collaborative culture.
