Along with managing the stability and performance of our database environments, the DBA will contribute to and support the future direction of our database environments, while aligning with current and emerging industry best practices. The DBA drives a culture of continual improvement, focusing on areas such as automation, reporting, tool deployment, and the delivery and implementation of governance best practices to optimize database services to internal and external customers, suppliers, and support teams.Key Responsibilities:Capacity and configuration managementContinuity and DR managementData architecture and database designDatabase specification and installationStorage managementLeadership and directionExperience:Substantial general work experience together with job-related experience in own area of expertise to a fully competent level.Practical database administration in large organisations and across heterogeneous platforms such as Azure, Windows Server, Linux, VMware, and Veeam.Platform operations monitoring using SolarWinds, including managing configuration and responding to system monitoring events.Database management experience: Oracle and SQL Server.Resolve complex platform incidents while working independently and in a team.Adapt to changing technical, process, and organisational environments.Continuously improve processes & technologies and drive a culture of innovation across the business.Analysis and problem solving, including identifying business requirements and making technical, business, and process recommendations.
