So…are you in?Your role:In this hands on role, together with your direct Planning report, you will support the development and implementation of the seasonal merchandise plans in collaboration with the Retail Merchandise team, to achieve sales targets and maximize profitability. More specifically you will:Take responsibility for analysing sales data, inventory levels, and market trends to identify risks and opportunities in the businessManage purchase orders, allocations, and inventory flow to ensure timely delivery and optimal stock levelsCreate and maintain forecast models using historical data, statistical methods, and software tools and collaborate with the Merchandise/Marketing & Logistics teams to refine forecasts based on market trends and promotional activitiesUtilise software and data analysis tools to create reports and present findings to senior management and the wider businessWork collaboratively with the Category Managers to leverage their strategic relationships for strong financial outcomes within each of their categoriesProvide input to the Supply Chain and Merchandise teams in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, product phase-outs and management of clearancePrepare reporting and communicate forecast and inventory measurements to management (forecast accuracy, inventory plan vs. targets)Prepare post seasonal reporting and analysisDevelop, inspire and empower your Planning reportHere’s what it will take:You:Are a seasoned and experienced Merchandise Planner from within a retail environmentHave a strong knowledge of demand forecasting and merchandise software/databases, have in-depth experience with ERP systems and you have advanced proficiency in ExcelAre highly commercial and are driven by achieving financial resultsAre an outcome oriented go getter who thrives working in the ‘grey’Are familiar working in a relatively unstructured environment and adding value through improving processes, tools and new ‘ways of working’ as well as thinking outside the box to maximise the planning functionHave an innate ability to understand where stock levels are at and then be able to translate this to a financial plan for each of the Merchandise categoriesExperience in effectively managing inventory through its life cycle across all channels including catalogues, store changes, new store openings, deletions and any additions of new linesHave experience developing strategic relationships with suppliers, where your inside knowledge keeps you one step aheadHave an absolute passion for personal development and desire to readily acquire new skills as well as a keen interest in developing others, so they can be the best versions of themselves every dayExcellent analytical skills and in developing accurate weekly and monthly forecast dataYou are known for your time management, communication and collaboration skills, coupled with high attention to detail and accuracyYou can deliver planning solutions with a difference.
