About the Role: Chandler Macleod are seeking a Machine Operator to work with our client's team, operating erecting machines in a production environment.
While these machines are not as common as others in the industry, this role would suit a fitter, maintenance technician, or anyone with strong mechanical aptitude.
Key Responsibilities: Operate and maintain erecting machines.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and ensure efficient operation.
Assist in general production duties as required.
Support the Production Supervisor as needed.
Ensure the workflow of production activities is efficient and effective.
Implement and embed Good Manufacturing Practices within the Shepparton Depot.
Ensure 5S project methodologies and Work in Progress are adhered to, ensuring the depot operates at a world-class standard.
Identify opportunities for improvement within the Shepparton operations.
Ensure all production activities align with the quality system and business objectives.
Work with engineering, maintenance, and technical departments to resolve process and quality issues.
Liaise with production planning personnel to achieve optimal production efficiencies.
Maximise production efficiencies while meeting customer and business requirements.
Monitor and report on operational KPIs, initiating corrective actions when required.
Implement and ensure adherence to business systems and procedures.
Lead the development of production-based continuous improvement objectives and one-page plans to support business strategy.
Actively contribute to the operations team through open and honest communication.
About You: Experience working on machinery in a production environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude, ideally with a fitter or maintenance background.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to build engagement and trust with employees through regular communication.
Ensure team and plant performance results are effectively communicated to employees.
Assess and develop training plans for the crew to operate erecting machines efficiently.
Address performance and behavioural standards proactively.
Investigate quality issues using structured problem-solving processes and implement corrective actions.
Manage supplier quality issues and ensure corrective actions meet customer and business requirements.
Lead the production teams in the development and execution of new products within project timelines.
Participate in and lead continuous improvement projects using lean manufacturing and statistical process controls.
