Teacher - Specialised Learning Program - Autism Branch: Hammond Park Secondary College Division: Independent Public School - South Metropolitan Education Region Salary: Teacher, $82,317 - $119,246 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2021) This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025 Located in Hammond Park on Irvine Parade, Hammond Park Secondary College (SC) opened in 2020 to Year 7 Students. The college buildings include state of the art classrooms, a library, administration and extensive student services area. The college also features specialist facilities for performing and visual arts, science laboratories, food and textiles, design and technology workshops and a gymnasium. The cafeteria is the hub of the central precinct and provides indoor and outdoor seating, landscaped gardens and open spaces. Multipurpose courts and oval were also included in the first stage of the build. Hammond Park SC is looking for a dynamic, team orientated Teacher – Specialist Learning Program (SLP) for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to deliver SLP's to support students with ASD to access mainstream education. The successful applicant should adopt evidence-based practice and pedagogy to meet the needs of students with ASD without a diagnosed intellectual disability. Knowledge of, and ability to, apply Western Australian curriculum is important. In collaboration with the Program Coordinator (Autism), teachers will ideally provide innovative and engaging classes for our students and contribute to their sense of belonging and overall wellbeing as they complete their secondary schooling. Teachers of this program will develop highly personalised learning plans to facilitate access to age-appropriate curriculum. They should apply evidence-based individualised education interventions to improve academic engagement, organisational skills, social thinking, peer relationships and self-regulation skills.
