You will also provide expert oversight of the enterprise-wide stress testing program. This role ensures the integrity and reliability of the Bank’s quantitative models, supporting regulatory compliance and alignment with internal governance frameworks. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining a robust risk culture and safeguarding the Bank’s financial resilience.Role Location: Brisbane, Sydney or MelbourneWhat will your day look like?As a Manager, Quantitative Analytics & Stress Testing, you will:Oversee the end-to-end independent review of material models (e.g., credit risk, capital, provisioning, pricing) to ensure alignment with the Bank’s Model Risk Management Framework, assessing conceptual soundness, data integrity, and ongoing performance.Design and implement robust validation plans and methodologies, producing high-quality, defensible reports that clearly articulate risks, findings, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Present validation outcomes to the Model Risk Committee and other governance forums, ensuring transparent communication and diligent tracking of remediation actions and model risk issues.Design and oversee the annual stress testing program in collaboration with first-line teams, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and alignment with the Bank’s capital targets and strategic objectives.Provide second-line oversight by reviewing and challenging stress test scenarios, methodologies, and outputs, while assessing governance, documentation, and reporting practices.Engage with key stakeholders across Capital Management, Treasury, Risk, and Business Units to monitor stress testing improvements and maintain adherence to capital operating ranges and risk appetite frameworks.What will you bring?To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:Tertiary qualifications in Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, or a related discipline.Strong experience in model development, validation, or risk analytics within financial services or consulting, ideally in a banking environment.Proven experience in stress testing, capital modelling, credit risk modelling, and ICAAP frameworks, including Recovery and Exit planning.Strong understanding of APRA Prudential Standards (especially Capital and RWA), with hands-on experience applying model risk governance practices in banking.Skilled in coding and data analysis using Python, R, SAS, or similar tools; solid grasp of financial markets and macroeconomic trends.Demonstrated strength in analytical thinking, stakeholder engagement, and communication—particularly in simplifying complex concepts for senior or non-technical audiences—with a focus on integrity, sound judgment, and independent thinking.You're not expected to have 100% of these skills.
