About our Mental Health Services at Monash Health
Monash Health Mental Health Services provides a range of community, bed-based and specialist services covering the Casey, Cardinia, Greater Dandenong, Kingston and Monash LGAs – a population of nearly one million. It has an operational budget of $130 million and employs approximately 820 EFT, representing over 1000 staff. The Program has a number of clinical units including three adult units (Casey, Dandenong and Clayton), an Early in Life Mental Health Service (comprising Perinatal & infant, child, and adolescent services), Young Persons’ Mental Health Service, Psychology and Specialist Services (PsySS), Drug & Alcohol service and Gender Dysphoria Clinic.
About The Role
We are excited to announce new positions for Registered Nurses (RNs) for our Aged Acute Mental Health ward at Biala Unit - Kingston Centre, Cheltenham. In these newly created Registered Nurse positions, the RN’s will work closely with the Associate Nurse Unit Mangers to ensure the provision of safe and effective care. The role of the Registered Nurse is accurate nursing assessments, and timely handover and management as required. The role also involves escalation of any deteriorating patient to ensure patient safety.
Precise Mental Sate Examination and Risk Assessment and paramount in Mental Health Nursing. Having therapeutic engagement time with the consumers is vital is building relationships and ensuring excellent assessment and communication. Monash Health is excited to announce new positions for; enthusiastic and promising applicants to perform the role of Registered Nurse on a full time or part time basis at the Kingston Centre located in Cheltenham, Vic.
4. This position offers you the opportunity to work in a dynamic Multidisciplinary Team that strive to deliver excellent care to their patients’ both during their stay and when they move back into the community
5. You will be an integral part of the Multidisciplinary team that care for our patients’ aged 65 and over, as they go through their holistic journey of recovery and be active in ongoing assessment and discharge planning
