Glencore Mount Isa Mines are currently advertising a vacancy that exists for the position of Bricklayer, within the refractory team at the Copper Smelter. Reporting to the Supervisor – Refractory, you must be flexible in terms of working times and rosters. This position is residentially based in Mount Isa, working a Monday to Friday roster, 48-hour week.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Refractory maintenance works in converters, furnaces, launders.
* Partial and full relining of converters and furnaces
* Carry out the bricking as per the drawing and site installation procedures.
You will have the following skillset and attributes:
* Trade qualified – Bricklayer
* Experience working in a smelter or steel plant refractory lining would be advantageous.
* Experience in gunning/spraying process
* Sound knowledge in understanding the refractory drawings.
* Demonstrated safety focus.
* Ability to think logically to solve problems.
